Fake UK IBAN generator
Generate test IBANs for United Kingdom with valid check digits. Each number follows the official 22-character structure but belongs to no real account.
Bulk generation
Up to 1,000 IBANs for the selected country, exported as text, CSV, JSON or XML.
UK IBAN structure
A UK IBAN has 22 characters: the country code GB, two check digits, then the BBAN, which is made up of the following: 4-letter bank code (normally the first four letters of the bank's BIC), 6-digit sort code and 8-digit account number.
| Position | Length | Content | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | 2 letters | ■ Country code | GB |
| 3–4 | 2 digits | ■ IBAN check digits | 22 |
| 5–8 | 4 letters | ■ Bank code | ZHNJ |
| 9–14 | 6 digits | ■ Branch code | 311942 |
| 15–22 | 8 digits | ■ Account number | 01358833 |
Good to know
UK banks also run a modulus check on the sort code and account number, using rules published by Pay.UK. This generator does not apply those rules, so the IBANs pass IBAN validation but may fail a full UK bank-detail check. The bank letters are random and do not match a real bank.
To check an existing IBAN, use the validator on the home page.
Frequently asked questions
United Kingdom: are these real IBANs?
No. The bank and account codes are random. The IBAN passes format and check-digit validation, but no bank or account holder is behind it, and a transfer would be rejected.
United Kingdom: how many characters does an IBAN have?
Always 22: GB, two check digits and a 18-character BBAN. Any other length is invalid.
United Kingdom: do the IBANs pass national checks?
The IBAN check digits are always valid and the structure follows the national format, but bank-specific account checks are not guaranteed (see “Good to know”).
